How Scott McLaughlin is one of the fastest drivers on the grid

Stephen McCaulay started on pole and led the race comfortably ahead of Will Power of Australia with Scott Dixon of New Zealand in third.

Dixon started 16th on the grid and had an impressive drive.

Dixon has a 20 point lead over Power and American Josef Newgarden, while just finishing in the top three at Laguna Seca next week would guarantee Power his second MotoGP title.

McLaughlin’s win improved his result to fifth in the standings and 41 points off the lead. There is still a mathematical possibility for him to claim the title.

Dixon won the final race of the season in 2015, to lead by one point and clinch the title on countback.

He has written six novels, but the first one was published four years ago.

Goalkeeper leak leads to red card

Goalkeeper Connor Maseko was sent off for urinating in a hedge during an English FA Cup first-round qualifying match over the weekend.

Maseko, playing for ninth-tier Black field & Langley, received a red card in the 76th minute of the goalless draw with Shepton Mallet.

After Maseko failed to notice players in his view and went up against a hedge, Shepton Mallet players pointed out the incident.

“The hedge prevented him from being exposed,” Black field & Langley co-manager, Conor McCarthy told the BBC.

“I was gobsmacked. We’re all pretty shocked by the decision.”
